On February 16, 2006, Jam Cruise organizers gave permission for mixed-artist jam session(s) to be hosted at the Archive:

This is the email exchange I had with Annabel from Jam Cruise. They have given permission for the archive to host the Jam Cruise Jam Room recordings on the archive. This will only be for audience recordings unless uploaded by myself.

Hello,
I was wondering if it would be OK to host the audience recordings from the Jam Cruise Jamroom on archive.org for folks to download? It's a free site and only audience recordings would be hosted there. Since there were so many people involved in the jam room jams, I don't knw who to list it under, so I thought that we could put it under "Jam Cruise Jam Room".

What is Jam Cruise's official taping policy?
Jam Cruise would like to establish this policy to assure that the needs of everyone on board are met and balanced. A special taping section will be located behind the mix position in each venue when possible space in the taping section is first-come first-serve. You are allowed to clamp onto existing stands.
DUE TO SAFETY CONCERNS ***MIC POLES ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THE POOL DECK** SPECIAL ARRANGEMENTS WILL BE MADE ON DECK for taping.
All taping is limited to audio only with microphones only. Tapers must bring, and are responsible, for all of their own equipment. Home decks and large mixers are not allowed. Tapers are asked to only bring ONE audio recording deck and ONE microphone stand/set of microphones into the venue.
Please stay out of the way of the working crew/soundman and do not set up equipment in a way that would impair them to do their job properly. SBD's are not available due to professional recording companies working for the Jam Cruise.
Wireless receivers are strictly prohibited.
Taping on Jam Cruise is authorized for non-commercial purposes only. Unauthorized sale, duplication and/or distribution is strictly forbidden.
All Jam Cruise performances and recordings are the exclusive property of Jam Cruise. We reserve the right to withdraw our sanction of recording, tape trading, and/or non-commercial digital audio file transfers on a case specific basis or in general, as we deem necessary.
